Great Job with the 4th of July Parade

Augusta Pack 603 celebrated America's Independence by taking part in the annual parade that wound its way from Western Ave through the downtown and ending at Augusta City Center. The Bear Den coordinated the decorating of the two vehicles used in the parade. The float had a tent and a dog sled on it to represent that Scouting is active in all seasons.

"Pack 603 keeps a full schedule of activies," said Cubmaster Chuck Mahaleris. "The boys have a lot of fun at summer camp, at the winter Klondike Derby, and at so many other events during the year."

Reid Albison said, "I love America and loved the parade." Reed is a sub-cub in the Pack. His older brother Connor is in the Bear Den.

Webelos Scout Theo Mahaleris said, "I love throwing candy during the parade."

Shawn Gallant, the Pack's committee chair said, "It is really suprising how many boys showed up even though it is summer vacation time. They really were full of Cub Scout spirit."

Den Leader Gary Sirois was proud of the work the boys put into decorating the two vehicles with flags, banners and signs. "The boys did good. They did a lot of work and they had a good time." The Bear Den also had pizza and a waterballoon fight after they finished decorating things Friday night before the parade.
